Summary:
On Dec. 20, 1978, at about 1:30 a.m., Detective Ronald Glenn Turner was driving an unmarked Fort Worth Police Department vehicle.
For reasons never determined, Detective Turner lost control of the vehicle and struck a guardrail at 700 North Freeway. The vehicle turned over and Detective Turner was ejected from the vehicle. Detective Turner's body went over a bridge railing and landed on the Airport Freeway.
Turner was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital but was dead on arrival.
Detective Turner has been enrolled on the National Peace Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C.

This wonderful man was my husband. His tragic ending will forever haunt me. He should have received the honor of being declared on duty, at the time of his death.
