Summary:
Officer R.P. Hollowell was a 10-year veteran of the Waco Police Department before coming to work for the Fort Worth Police. During his career in Waco, Officer Hollowell had been shot and stabbed a total of six times and had killed four men.
Officer Hollowell came to Fort Worth in April 1913. On Feb. 24, 1914, Officer R.P. Hollowell was en route to a call on his motorcycle when he struck a dog, causing him to fall from his motorcycle. Officer Hollowell was in and out of a coma, and never fully recovered from this accident.
Officer Hollowell fell into a coma in early December of 1914. He died as a result of complications from this accident on Dec. 26, 1914.
