Summary:
Motorcycle officer Namon L. Cox Jr. was killed on June 20, 1952 when his motorcycle and a car collided at 3400 Hemphill. Officer Cox was thrown from his motorcycle and into the path of an oncoming car. He was then hit by the oncoming vehicle. Officer Cox had been trailing an ambulance on the way to a stabbing.

After picking up the stabbing victim, the ambulance returned and picked up Officer Cox, transporting both men to the hospital. Officer Cox was dead on arrival.
