Summary:
Officer Ludwig Bruno died March 2, 1977 from complications resulting from internal injuries sustained February 6, when he was struck by a car that afterwards fled from the scene.
Officer Bruno was directing traffic around vehicles involved in a collision when he was struck by a car at 1100 NE 28th. He sustained a broken leg, facial cuts and internal injuries. He died almost a month later when a blood clot formed in one of his lungs.
