Summary:
Captain L.E. Ferguson was a passenger in a fire truck en route to a residential fire at 1411 W. Magnolia, when the vehicle suffered a blowout of a rear tire. The vehicle skidded and struck a curb. Captain Ferguson was thrown from the vehicle and landed on the pavement in front of the truck. The truck, which had not lost momentum, then ran over Ferguson. Captain Ferguson died a short time later at All Saints Hospital.

Captain Ferguson was buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth. The cemetery records concerning Captain Ferguson have been misplaced, and the location of his grave is unkown, though it is presumed he is buried next to his wife, Mrs. L.E. Ferguson, who died in 1922.

Captain Ferguson's first and middle names are unknown.
