Summary:
Officer Jimmie F. Chadwell was assigned to the Police Department Fugitive Squad. On Dec. 11, 1978, Officer Chadwell was shot and killed while serving an arrest warrant on the city's north side. Officer Chadwell was struck several times and was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.

The suspect died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.
