Summary:
Officer Jesse R. Parris died Sept. 6, 1977, two and one half hours after being shot in the chest by a man he attempted to arrest at the corner of Faron and Wellesley in the Como neighborhood of west Fort Worth.
Officer Parris was assisting another officer when he encountered the suspect. When other officers arrived, they found Officer Parris sitting in his patrol unit and the suspect was standing over him. The suspect was arrested without incident.
