Frank Massengale was my greatgrandfather. He was one of the first firefighters of Ft. Worth. He was primarily a driver, first the horse drawn units, then trucks. He always believed he and his horses could beat any of the orginal fire trucks. One interesting note, he was killed on the corner of Bryce St. and Montgomery. His son, his grandson, and myself were named Bryce after William Bryce, an early Mayor of Ft Worth.
