Summary:
On Dec. 4, 1954, Charles R. Bostick, a Fort Worth Firefighter, was working when he was dispatched to the scene of a fire.
Charles Bostick had a heart condition and had been advised to refrain from heavy and stressful activities. Evidently telling no one about his condition, and while raising a heavy wooden ladder, Charles Bostick suffered a fatal heart attack, dying a short time later.
These details were related to retired Fire Department Historian and Battalion Chief Jim Noah by Jack Bostick, also a retired Fort Worth Firefighter.
There are no newspaper accounts of the fire at which Charles Bostick suffered the fatal heart attack.
