Completion
of the memorial depends upon contributions from the entire Fort Worth
community.
What was once only a dream for the
memorial is now becoming a reality. While much has been
accomplished, the journey toward completion continues. We need your
help.
The Fort Worth Police and Fire Fighters
Memorial Committee was formed several years ago in order to create a
destination where the public can pay their respects and honor their fallen
fire fighters, police officers and peace officers.
The committee has entered into an
agreement with the City of Fort Worth to locate the memorial at the
north end of Trinity Park along West Seventh Street. The efforts
of the local architectural firm Gideon Toal have been invaluable during
the design phase, and the chosen artist, Jack Wilson, has created a sculpture
which has now been approved by all participants.
We seek to raise $1 million from individuals, business entities and local foundations.
This will be a united effort to achieve a united recognition of those to whom
so many owe so much.
On behalf of the men and women who
protect our city every day and those who died in the line of duty on our
behalf, we ask for your help. Please join us in building a lasting
tribute to our fallen heroes. With your contribution, our community
will take another step toward completion of the memorial and formally
recognizing those who sacrificed their lives on our behalf.
